On Dec 30th, 2009, 12 youth and 2 adults spent an overnighter at the Wallcrawlers climbing facility in Whitewater, WI. Special thanks to all the adult drivers and chaperones, specifically: Judy Holaday, Mike Linsley (drivers), and Jill Converse (driver, chaperone, and food prep.) Photos of the event are at the bottom of the page and in the photos section of the web site.

Just a quick note to thank all the parents and kids involved in the recent Fright Fest. It went off without a hitch and everyone had a great time. Special thanks to the following people for helping me out with the behind-the-scenes logistics: - Jill Converse - Chaperone, driver, food prep, and chief navigator
- Steve Hanewall - Donated a 15 passenger van - without it we wouldn't have been able to get all 12 kids down and back safely.

Details on the 2009 and 2010 youth adventure trips ...
Wisconsin River Paddle/Camping Trip - Thursday and Friday August 20-21 2009
We'll be canoeing and kayaking down the Wisconsin River with our put-in at the lower Wisconsin Dells. The water is easy moving so no whitewater skills needed for this trip, anyone over 11 can attend without a parent (11 or under, bring a parent with you). We'll camp on one of the many sandbars and takeout near the Pine Island wildlife area. All meals and transportation included. If you have a canoe/kayak that you can bring, great, I'll add it to the armada of boats we'll be bringing. Let me know before the signup due date. Signup due date is August 18. Call or email me if you plan to attend. You'll need to fill out a waiver form (located at the church bulletin board and on the website forms section ) the day of the event. We'll leave from the church at 10AM on Aug 20. We'll return to the church on Aug 21 at or before 9PM.
Six Flags Fright Fest - Friday Oct 30 2009
The day before Halloween, we'll head down to Six Flags and spend an evening at the transformed theme park, riding as many coasters as possible. We won't get back until late... More details as we get closer to the event
Wallcrawlers Climbing Gym Overnight Lock-in - Wednesday Dec 30-31, 2009
Spend an over nighter at the Whitewater rock climbing facility. No previous rock climbing experience necessary. Previous pizza eating experience required. More details in November.
Cascade Mountain Ski Trip - Friday Feb 26, 2010
Spend the evening skiing/snowboarding the slopes at Cascade Mtn. No previous ski experience required. More details in 2010.

The next 3 youth adventure group activities for this summer, fall, and winter are: an overnight flat water paddle trip and campout down the Wisconsin river, roller coaster and amusement park exploration at 6 Flags, and downhill skiing at Cascade Mountain. Stay tuned for more details on dates and times as we get closer to summer. |
